In August, WCDC volunteers baked and served enough Blueberry Crisp to raise $700 to support our Get Out The Vote Postcard Project that will reach nearly 8,000 Waldo County households this fall!
Nearly 30 volunteers pitched in to help, by baking crisp or dishing it up (or both!) at the Belfast Community Co-op 50th Anniversary Party at Steamboat Landing in Belfast on August 22. While the event was non-partisan, WCDC participated alongside other community groups to celebrate and support the Co-op.
We were especially glad to welcome CD 2 House Candidate Matt Dunlap and his wife Michelle Dunphy as volunteer servers at our booth. We’re also grateful to Maine House Candidate Madison Cook who helped throughout the day and to Maine Senate Candidate Chip Curry and Maine House Candidate Mike Ray who stopped by to say hellow.
Thank you to all our bakers, servers, and others who helped with planning, setting up, and cleaning up after the event – you made our very first Blue Tsunami Blueberry Crisp sale a big success and lots of fun!
