Support Local Democrats!

There are lots of ways to support Democrats at the local level.

You Local Democratic Committees: WCDC uses your contributions to maintain an office year round, directly support candidates across the county, assist municipal and regional Democratic committees, and hold various events to promote Democratic candidates and important legislation. Make a one-time donation or set up a recurring donation starting at just $5 a month using this link to our ActBlue account. Or mail a check to WCDC at 22 Searsport Ave., Ste. 102, Belfast, ME 04915.

Your Local House and Senate Candidates: Local Democrats running for office need your direct support too! Maine House and Senate candidates are eligible for Maine Clean Elections funding – our state’s public campaign finance program. Participating candidates can collect a small amount of “seed money” contributions from individuals (limited to $100 per person and a total of $1000 for House candidates or $3000 for Senate candidates). After those limits, they collect small $5 contributions from voters in their district to qualify for public funds in lieu of traditional fundraising from corporations and PACs. Support them by visiting the Maine Secretary of State’s secure Clean Elections contribution page – enter your address and you’ll see which candidates in your district are “running Clean.” Select the candidates you want to support and make your contribution. It’s quick and easy for you, and for the candidates, too!

Other Local Candidates: The Clean Elections program doesn’t apply to all of our local candidates. Democrats running for offices such as County Commissioner and other County offices may raise money the traditional way. We’ll post ways to donate to their campaigns here, as they become available.

Of course, money is not the only way to contribute – or even the most important way! Visit our Volunteer page to learn how you can make a difference with your time and energy.

Thank you!
