Waldo County Democrats at the Maine Democratic Convention!

Waldo County Democrats elected a full slate of delegates to participate in the 2026 Maine Democratic Party’s State Convention. Delegates voted online in late April to fill Waldo County’s three Democratic State Committee positions and approve the party platform and charter. The in-person portion of the convention took place at Thompson’s Point in Portland on May 1 and 2.

The convention schedule was packed with events and activities, including a welcome breakfast and trail stewardship volunteer outing; an array of topical workshops; vendor expo; welcome reception for all delegates; the traditional Emerge Maine breakfast with Governor Janet Mills and US Rep. Chellie Pingree; surprise keynote speech on the convention floor from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (who also headlined the Victory Banquet Friday night); Young Dems After Dark dance party at Bubba’s Sulky Lounge; and a closing Candidate Spotlight and Social with all our Democratic candidates for Governor, U.S. Senator, and U.S. Representative.
