July 25, 2026 — What an exciting day! Maine Democrats have chosen Troy Jackson as our nominee for the United States Senate. Delegates from all 16 counties gathered today and gave Troy 99% of the vote. It’s official — Troy Jackson is our candidate, and he is ready to take on Susan Collins.
It’s been an amazing two weeks
More than 5,500 Democrats stepped up across Maine to run for delegate. They ran unpledged but were free to share their points of view and preferences — many wrote blurbs about why they were running, and a few identified a candidate of choice. Candidates for U.S. Senate put out slates of delegates they believed reflected their supporters.
Right here in Waldo County, 118 Democrats were on the ballot to serve as delegates.
Statewide, more than 17,000 Democrats voted for the delegates they wanted to send to today’s convention. In Waldo County, 769 ballots were cast to elect our 15 delegates and 3 alternates — nearly all of whom were on Troy Jackson’s slate. Our elected delegates were joined at the convention by 5 Waldo County members previously elected to the Democratic State Committee.
And today, at the convention, Troy Jackson received 99% of the vote, making him our Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate.
We now have 101 days until the general election on November 3.
Here we go. Let’s get her done. Time for Susie to retire!
